WPN Rules of the Game - Policies

Please take a moment to read the WPN Member and Guest Policies. If you have any questions about our policies, please contact us.

Member Announcements

WPN Members may make announcements at each meeting during table networking, or to the entire group which relates to their own business or non profit organizations they support. However, because of our limited time, we draw 5 members to make announcements to the entire group. How do we define an announcement?    
An announcement is:
  • An event you are promoting
  • A class or seminar you are offering
  • A business open house or celebration you are having
  • A limited-time special your business is offering
  • Special recognition to you or another have received
An announcement is NOT:
  • A general business promotion
  • A general introduction to yourself or you business
  • A personal announcement (but please submit these for website and newsletter publication)

Name Tags

New members will receive a name tag free of charge upon applying and paying for their membership. Please make sure all information on your name tag order is legible and exactly how you want it printed. Name tags are ordered once a month, and are available at the following monthly breakfast meeting. If members have lost or want a name or business change on their name tag, it is the responsibility of the members to contact the networking chair or request one online. There is a $10.00 cost for new name tags. Please visit the shopping cart to order a replacement name tag.

Cell Phones

We ask you to silence your cell phones and turn off pagers during our meetings. If yours rings, we reserve the right to collect a $5 fine, which will be donated to charity.

Spam/Mass e-mail and Telephone Solicitation

The WPN Member Directory is provided to encourage networking and facilitate business transactions between members. It is not intended to provide e-mails and phone numbers for solicitation. WPN does not allow members or guests to send mass e-mails or to solicit members by telephone. Please respect this policy, and our members’ busy lives. If you’d like to reach all membership, we encourage members to reserve a display table in the WPN Business Center, submit an announcement for the newsletter or website, or enter the Member Announcement drawing at the breakfast meeting.

Handouts

We ask that you refrain from handing out business materials except during table networking. Members are welcome to leave brochures or fliers on the WPN Member Information Table. Please take any remaining materials with you when you leave.

Who May Attend a WPN Meeting?

WPN meetings are open to women from age sixteen to one hundred and sixteen!

Reservations

RSVPs are requested. We accept RSVPs for members and guests until 5 pm on the Friday before our meeting. We appreciate cancellations of reservations by that time. Walk-in guests and members are very welcome; as we plan for a few extra guests. Our meeting fees include breakfast, networking and the speaker:

        $17 for WPN members with an RSVP by reservation deadline
        $20 for WPN members without a reservation
        $17 or first time guests with a reservation
        $20or second time guests with or without a reservation

You may attend two meetings as a guest before joining. Previous members may attend once as a guest, and then we will ask you to join again as a new member.

Guests

We invite you to attend your first breakfast meeting at a reduced fee of $17. Your second breakfast as a guest is $20. After attending two meetings as a guest, we ask that you join in order to continue attending. Past members may attend once as a guest.

Breakfast No Shows

Because we must pay for every reservation, we ask you to cover your breakfast fee if you cannot attend after reserving for a meeting. Members and guests who cancel before the RSVP deadline (5 pm Friday before the meeting) will not be charged.

Membership Dues

WPN membership dues are $75 for the first year and $70 to renew.

Membership Renewals

WPN Memberships expire yearly on December 31st. Memberships that come up for renewals receive a reminder e-mail prior to their renewal date. WPN hopes that you will renew, and do so in a timely manner. We do however give you a grace period of six months to renew your membership. (This grace period is in place mainly for those who may have been away for long periods of time). After your expiration month, and if your membership is not paid, you will be asked to renew at the door as you must have a paid membership to continue to attend the breakfast meetings. Renewal dates stay the same regardless of the month that it’s paid. Cost is $70. If the six month period is up, WPN will require you to purchase a NEW Membership for the cost of $75.

Membership Refund

Membership dues are eligible for a partial refund if requested within 30 days of joining. Requests can be made by sending an email to wpn@wpnbellingham.org. In the email, please state the reason for membership cancellation. There will be a $10 processing fee and $10 name-tag fee deducted from the total amount paid.
